Northside College Prep opened the 2010 season competing at the Niles West Indoor Invite, Friday, Feb. 6.

    All season long the goal for Northside College Prep was to capture a city championship.

    Mission Accomplished.

    The Mustangs cruised to the program’s first city title as they scored 44 points, besting second place Lane Tech (60), third place Mather (64) and a hail storm at the beginning of the race. All five scoring runners for Northside finished in the top 20 of a race that featured 175 participants. click here for rest of story

Mustangs take fifth

    Northside College Prep may not have won a city title but they have a lot to be proud about.

    Northside College Prep had a new challenge during the Pat Savage Invite at Niles West on Saturday.

    With 34 teams running a tight course the Mustangs pack was broken up early so they had to run on their own. But Northside persevered and brought home a sixth place finish in the White Division. click here for rest of story.

Northside set to kick off 2009 season

     Northside College Prep is ready to open the 2009 cross country season with a bang, Wednesday, Sept. 2 at the St. Patrick Invitational.
     The boys team won the meet held at Schiller Woods last year while the girls finished third.
     The meet features 17 schools including: Fenwick, Fenton, Mather, Lane Tech, Whitney Young, Saint Patrick, Trinity, Guerin Prep, Chicago International Charter, Marian Catholic, St. Ignatius, Walter Payton Prep, Northside College Prep, Northridge Prep, Notre Dame, Ridgewood, and Resurrection.
     The Mustangs boys team is absolutely loaded this year bringing back stud distance runners in senior Cuitlahuac Pineda Youniss, junior Wesley Laytham, junior Charlie Messimore and senior Cooper Eben. All four had fantastic track and field seasons in the spring. The three other members who will make big contributions to the team are junior Farhad Savari, Senior Jiasong Yang and junior Erik Zuehlke.
     The varsity roster for the Northisde College Prep girls team features freshman phenom Taylor Provax, junior Maggie Ivanova, junior Su Yang, senior Bessie Nolan, junior Karlyn Gehring, junior Dava Batjargal, and senior Yesenia Valadez.
     The St. Patrick Invitational commences at 4:30 pm, on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, and the order of races is as follows: (1) Sophomore-Freshman Girls, (2) Sophomore-Freshman Boys, (3) Varsity Girls, (4) Varsity Boys, and (5) Junior Varsity Boys and Girls.
